For more than 70 years, NIB's mission has been to enhance the opportunities for economic and personal independence of people who are blind primarily through creating, sustaining and improving employment.  While we have much to celebrate, our job is not done.  Today, nearly 70 percent of working age Americans who are blind are not employed.

With your help -- we can do better.  Take a stand today to advance our mission to increase independence and employment opportunities for those who are blind by reaching out to your Congressional leaders.  Let them know how NIB is making a difference.

Below are pages that inform and empower advocates on key issues impacting the AbilityOne Program and employment of people who are blind or have other severe disabilities.  Accomplishing our mission will require each of us to do everything we can, starting right now!
